Between 2016-17 nearly 16,000 fires occurred in commercial buildings in the United Kingdom (gov.uk), resulting in damage to premises and even loss of life. A correctly functioning, professionally maintained fire alarm system can help you to reduce the risks to your business and ensure you comply with your duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Regulations 2005.
Fire and Security Total Solutions provide a complete solution for all your fire protection requirements, from initial design through to installation, commissioning and maintenance. Our experienced staff are familiar with and always work to BS5839 (the British Standard for fire detection and alarm systems).
The main types of fire alarm system used in a commercial setting are 'addressable' and 'conventional'. With both types of system your premises will be divided into 'zones' which will each contain a number of detection devices.
An addressable system will allow you to pinpoint the exact location of the fire, by showing on the control panel which device has been triggered. In larger buildings and higher risk environments an addressable system would be the better option.
A conventional system allows you to identify the zone in which the fire has occurred, but will not pinpoint the exact device. This makes the conventional system more suited to smaller and low risk environments.
In addition to these systems, we can also design specialist systems for different applications, including:
We offer full after sales support and warranty, and can provide maintenance packages for our systems and takeover those that have been installed by others.
